Accessing VoIP Gateway With Router?

by admin on May 2, 2009

I have a Netgear router with a separate VoIP gateway plugged into one of the router ports. Internet and voip work fine.

I'm trying to access the voip control panel via the address 192.168.1.1 when attached to the router and I can't get the admin screen.

I've also tried the IP address of the VoIP gateway, and also no luck.

If I disconnect the router and hook the VoIP gateway directly to the modem then to my computer I can access the admin screen with 192.168.1.1

Any suggestions on how I can access the VoIP admin when attached to the router? I've turned off the firewall when trying all of this.

Is your router and gateway using the same IP Range. I would keep your routers IP address as it is, say its 192.168.0.1 and make your voip gateways IP address something like 192.168.0.3
