voice over ip, voip providers,

Are Full Duplex SOUND CARS Required for Voip to Be Used EFFECTIVELY in a Call Center?

April 30, 2009

We have employees working from home and have been very sucessful in using VONAGE for both local and long distance. I have set up a remote site with 10-12 people with all new pc's. I First tried using hand held phones connected to vonage but static made it useless if more than one person is on-line. I bought a switch to separate voice and data giving voice the priority it failed. I tried soft phone it failed. I have the center using the highest internet speed brighthouse/road runner provides.
I have read that if the pc contains a sound card that is not full duplex it could cause this problem. Can anyone provide assistance?

A half duplex sound card can only output sound or input sound at different times. Whereas a full duplex sound card can do both at the same time making it ideal for telephone conversations or VOIP Voice over Internet Protocol. Half duplex cards are not suitable!
