voice over ip, voip providers,

Can I use my laptop as a normal phone when running Windows XP?

by admin on May 2, 2009

Is it possible to use a Windows XP machine as a conventional (POTS/PSTN/FXS) phone through the modem? That is, not as a VOIP phone but a landline phone.
It works as a fax modem (I just tested it) – does this mean it will work as a voice modem too?

yes, with the MagicJack!!

you need a phone-modem and then you have to buy the software, which is around 90 dollars…..download it, but it slows down the laptop to much…..its much easier just to use a SIP service….
