If you use a switch, you don't need to configure it. As for the router, most of them have the IP of 192.168.1.100 ... You have to connect to it by an ethernet cable, configure your PC`s IP to 192.168.1.1, fire up internet explorer and type in http://196.168.1.100:8080/, it will ask for a passowrd, that is "admin" in most cases. I strongly suggest you read the manual, or at least find out what model it is, and look at the manual available on the vendors website.
