How Can I Access Broadband Internet Without a Home Phone Line?

Well, a regular phone line would only give you a slow dial up connection anyhow. If you had a modern laptop, that would let you get free broadband, if an unencrypted signal is in range.

Of course, you can also just take a laptop to a wi-fi spot nearby.

It's using USA phone numbers, but if both parties have one, you can make unlimited free phone calls on any phone back & forth.
