How do i convert a basic phone jack to VoIP?

by admin on May 2, 2009

I would need to know what to purchase as a VOIP signal conversion device or how to use a computer as a telephone running special software. Thanks.

to connect your VoIP to your existing phone wires, you need to go to the NID normallay grey or white box outside of your house, and disconnect the phone company wiring (the wires comming from the telephone pole or terminal)

once your line is seperated from the telephone network, then you can just use a standard line cord to connect between any phone jack in your home, and the VoIP ATA device.

This wont work, if you are using DSL, as your DSL comes to your home with the phone wiring.. .you would need to do alittle more work to get your phone jacks to work with your VoIP service.. if you need further assistance email me..
