I live in India. Want to buy a 3skypephone from uk for VOIP. Are there any carrier restrictions, legal or technology issues ?
I know that skype works in India, have used Uk-India video chat. what i am interested is in the wireless skypephone that doubles as your regular gsm mobile.Problem is, seems like it uses some of the services of the carrier(see product faqs), so it may not work if regulators (who regulate carriers) don't allow it.

The Skypephone uses the normal GSM voice network for handling Skype calls, which permits it to use Skype when the user is out of range of the 3G network and is roaming on one of 3's partner networks. Their FAQ's aren't real clear on that.
The 3skypephone doesn't work in USA.
