May 2, 2009

I am using COMCAST dsl....but the problem I run into is I have VOIP phone service.

I have a linksys wrt54g but if I hook it up with the VOIP router in place (centillium) it will not find the internet... so I am either without phone service or without wifi....help me please.

you need to setup your router to forward the VOIP packets to your computer. basically you must tell it what port does the application uses and the local ip address of your computer. here is a guide on how to accomplish this on your router model:

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT54G/WRT54Gindex.htm

the list contains guides for various applications. if you don't find the application you use for VOIP in the list just read the default guide:

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT54G/default.htm

however you must know the port that the application uses. I recommend taking a look in the user manual.
