voice over ip, voip providers,

I’m looking to transfer a few voicemails (Bell Canada system) to my PC. What’s the best non-VoIP solution?

I've heard of some sort of adapter that would plug into the microphone slot on the back of my PC, but I don't know the full process or what the adapter is called (or even what it looks like).

If you purchase a computer microphone to plug into the microphone jack on the back of your PC, you can go to "start button/programs/accessories/ entertainment /sound recorder" on your PC and then play the message on your phone while holding the microphone close to the receiver.
You could also call Bell Canada and ask them if they could email the messages to you in a .wav file.
