voice over ip, voip providers,

Is there an international ring tone when calling french VOIP phones from the UK through UK VOIP account?

by admin on May 2, 2009

I run a business and have not been away on holiday for years. I am planning to set up a VOIP account like Skype for example in the uk and go away to france. In France I will have a broad band connection. If I receive calls from the UK will there be an international dialing tone and give away the fact that I am abroad?

Thanks

Yes..there is a different tone. There would be a difference in what they would hear which would be similar to the difference between for example ringing from a UK landline to a UK landline compared to ringing say a USA landline ( I have tested it).

PS…in other words the caller hears a different ringing tone
