The ip operator said the caller was Luke with an address of l2mitch @yahoo.com but attempting to send e-mail keeps coming back as failed by yahoo. has anyone had similar problems?

It is an active account. They could have had a Temporary Suspended Account. That would cause what you said. Try it again.
