Voice over internet protocols – Can I use a vonage adapter in other country than US & canada?

by admin on May 2, 2009

Since VOIP adapters use data signals …what happen if I take my vonage phone adapter to a non service country such as Italy?…how do they know that I plug my adapter on a DSL from ….Italy for example?

I have a really good friend who is originally from the Phillipines, even though she stays here in Chicago now. She has a sister that lives in Manila and she got her the Vonage subscription – with a Chicago (773) Area Code!!!

So technically, it can be done. As long as the other person has a solid broadband connection. If they don't there will be disruptions or loss of quality in the service.
