My fiancee calls her family in Brazil from the states, and right now she needs to buy a phone card all the time (sometimes 10 times a month) so she can keep tricking her cell phone into thinking it's calling a toll-free 1-800 number. That sounds pricey, but if she simply dialed Brazil on her cell, it would be WAY worse for how often and how long she talks.
I have heard about internet phones that make calls to regular land line numbers for low monthly rates. When I check into companies like Skype, I see the phrase "to the U.S. and Canada" all over the place.
What is the best company and plan to go with for the cheapest possible (hopefully unlimited, one low monthly fee) calls to Brazil?
I'm aware of that, first answerer. We're not going to trade in our cell phones or anything.

With Skype you pay one flat fee of $30 per year , and all your calls to the US and Canada are free
