What Will Happen if My 110v VOIP Device Is Plugged Directly to a 220v Socket?

May 1, 2009

i just got a new VOIP device from Taiwan. It only has 110 v but i failed to see that the adapter is not match with 220v socket. I had plugged it directly. Will this totally damage my device or i can still fix my device? please help me. i feel terribly sad about this.

it would totally destroy your device. It might run correctly for a couple of seconds and then it will probably start smoking. You have to get an adaptor and a power converter. it is just getting too much power
